What We Do

1. Prison Support and Decongestion Advocacy

JEP-FC works with incarcerated persons and relevant authorities to promote humane prison conditions, access to justice, and initiatives that contribute to prison decongestion.

Our engagement includes activities associated with Buea Central Prison, also known locally as Lower Farms. Through advocacy and support initiatives, we seek to draw attention to the challenges faced by incarcerated persons and encourage constructive responses that uphold justice and human dignity.

We believe that effective justice systems should promote fairness, lawful processes, rehabilitation, and opportunities for individuals to rebuild their lives.

2. Health, Hygiene and Sanitation Initiatives

Access to basic hygiene and sanitation is essential to the health and dignity of incarcerated persons.

JEP-FC supports prison welfare through the donation of essential hygiene and health-related supplies, including soap, hand-washing stations, sanitizers, and protective masks.

These initiatives aim to improve hygiene practices, promote a healthier environment, and respond to basic needs within correctional facilities.

We welcome partnerships and donations that help us extend these interventions and respond to emerging welfare needs.

3. The Angel Tree Programme

Bringing Hope to Children and Families Affected by Incarceration

The Angel Tree Programme is one of JEP-FC’s important humanitarian initiatives, organized through annual Christmas activities for children and families of incarcerated persons in the Fako Division.

The programme seeks to ensure that children affected by a parent’s or family member’s incarceration are not forgotten during the festive season.

Through the provision of food items, including rice and cooking oil, toys, school supplies, and personal necessities, the programme brings encouragement and practical assistance to vulnerable families.

Beyond material support, the Angel Tree Programme promotes compassion, strengthens family connections, and reminds children that they remain valued members of their communities.

Our goal is to bring smiles, restore hope, and make the Christmas season more meaningful for families facing difficult circumstances.
